PUBINSIDER.COM AWARDS TOP HONOR TO “CALIFORNIA HEALTHY” AT

THE NATIONAL 2007 INDIE EXCELLENCE BOOK AWARDS

LOS ANGELES – PubInsider.com, the premiere online magazine and publishing industry consulting firm, announced the winners and finalists of its “NATIONAL 2007 INDIE EXCELLENCE BOOK AWARDS” on May 1, 2007. 250 winners and finalists were announced in over 60 categories covering print, audio, and e-books.

Jeff Bowen, president and publisher of PubInsider.com, said this year’s contest yielded over 700 entries, which were then narrowed down to 250 winners and finalists.

Winner in the Travel Book Category:

• California Healthy: The Adventurer’s Guide to Local Delicacies, Fine Wines, Great Walks and the Good Life by Patricia Hamilton was awarded the top prize for Travel. This guide features local area businesses that sell whole, local and organic foods; farm businesses including farmers markets; nearby walking opportunities that include cultural and culinary tourism; wine-tasting; plus hundreds of food festivals, an index to towns and places, and 25 super comfort food recipes by Stanford University Executive Chef Bruce Biron.

Bowen says of the awards, now in their second year, “The 2007 results represent a phenomenal mix of books from a wide array of publishers throughout the United States and a healthy dose of newcomers to watch!”
